Bio:
Zoe Slaughter, a proud Houston native, has golf woven into the fabric of her family’s history. Her grandfather, Jake Carter, was a caddy at Port Arthur Country Club and went on to become the captain of the Prairie View A&M golf team. His daughter, Kafi Carter, made her own mark as a standout track star at Texas A&M. For Zoe and her family, it was a full-circle moment when she joined the women’s golf team at her mother’s alma mater, becoming the first black female golfer in Texas A&M history.
What began as a bonding experience with her father and grandfather soon blossomed into a deep passion that drives her today. After honing her skills on public courses, Zoe developed a scrappy, hardworking style of play, earning a reputation for her mental toughness and adaptability on the course. She was named AAC Freshman of the Year at the University of Houston, and after transferring to Texas A&M, Zoe led her team to the 2023 SEC Team Championship with a playoff victory.
As a rookie on the Ladies European Tour with a mini-tour victory under her belt, Zoe remains focused on achieving her dream of competing on the LPGA Tour. Committed to inspiring others and making golf more inclusive, Zoe aims to leave a legacy of hard work, authenticity, and the belief that golf is for everyone.
