Bio:
Ruixin Liu is no stranger to professional golf, having competed in her first event at the Epson Tour’s Volvik Championship at only 14 years of age. She continued competing as an amateur on the professional circuit in one of more events each year until turning professional in 2017.
In 2018, Liu experienced a medical scare on the course where her heart rate spiked to 140 BPM. After extensive testing, doctors were able to determine that she is allergic to 13 different weeds and grasses commonly found on golf courses in the U.S. Despite the setback and the obstacles standing between her and a career in professional golf, Liu earned four top-three finishes that year, including two victories in the final four weeks of the season. She was named the Epson Tour’s 2018 Player of the Year, and secured her LPGA Tour card for the 2019 season.
In her spare time on the road, Liu spends time volunteering at pet shelters with several friends who share a love for animals. During the offseason, she returns to China where she enjoys spending time with family, and riding horses – a hobby she hopes to one day pursue professionally as well.
